Course Description

This course invites students to explore the intimate, almost symbiotic relationship between religion and war across various human cultures and historical time periods. Through a combination of lectures and discussion sections, students will engage theological texts, philosophical writings, movies, songs, poetry, literature, and scholarship to discover the many ways that war and religion both inform and give meaning to each other.
