Our department has a strong record of successfully placing its graduates in full time teaching positions, despite the difficult job market over the last few years.
Graduate students have access to the placement services of the College of Arts and Sciences. We are equally proud and supportive of graduates who seek work in university administration, nonprofit organizations, and private industry.
IU’s Department of Religious Studies is outstanding and I consider myself fortunate to have learned the academic trade there: the warm community of scholars there not only guided my pedagogical development, but also laid the interdisciplinary foundation of history, philology, and religion on which my future research program would be constructed.
