Congratulations to Professor Cooper Harriss on his recent promotion to Associate Professor. Cooper Harriss approaches religion through studies of literature, vernacular music, preaching, and performance. He is particularly interested in the religious and theological dimensions of the concept of race. He teaches courses on religion in America, religion and sports, and disaster. His next book is about Muhammad Ali as a religious leader.
