REL-R-160 — Summer

Days and Times
SECOND 8 WEEKS: 06/17/2024 – 07/26/2024. This class meets 100% online through asynchronous instruction.
Course Description

Religion has always been deeply embedded in American culture and society, sometimes in ways that surprise others around the world. In this class, we will interrogate ways that we might understand and define “religion,” especially in its American contexts, while reading primary and secondary texts on a variety of aspects of religion in America from the fifteen century until today. With an emphasis on religion broadly construed, we will examine a variety of religious groups at the intersections of religion, race, and gender.
