“Punks and Profiteers in the War on Death” by doctoral candidate Jacob Boss has been published by the journal Body and Religion. In this groundbreaking article on human augmentation and transhumanism Boss provides new theoretical frameworks for research at the intersection of religion, science, medicine, and economics. Resulting from five years of ethnographic study with grassroots, punk, disabled, Black, trans and queer technologists involved in extra-institutional research and community building, the ideas in “Punks and Profiteers” are already being engaged by scholars nationally and internationally.
