Matt Graham (virtually) presented research from his dissertation at the International Society for Religion, Literature, and Culture held at the University of Chester. His paper, titled “Dickinson as Proto-Postsecularist,” investigated the prospect of Emily Dickinson’s poetics as offering a postsecularist vision of the nineteenth century Atlantic world in which she lived. The ISRLC is an excellent gathering for anyone broadly interested in religion and literature. It is a small conference that provides, for grad students and seasoned scholars alike, a forum for trying out ideas and getting expert feedback.
