Religious Studies adjunct faculty member Dan Caner has been awarded the 2022 Philip Schaff prize for his book, The Rich and the Pure: Philanthropy and the Making of Christian Society in Early Byzantium. The Schaff prize is awarded by the American Society of Church History for the best book on the history of Christianity published in North America in the previous year.
