On April 14th, David Haberman delivered a keynote address celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, and honoring the department’s founder, Robert Lester. The title of his keynote was “Religious Studies and Reimagining the Human in the Climate Crisis.” Graduating in 1976, Haberman was one of the first majors in the department, and this lecture gave him an opportunity to reflect on the developments in religious studies over the past 50 years. He also held a seminar for faculty and graduate students on climate change and religion.
