Rebecca Manring has just been elected Chair of the South Asian Summer Language Institute (SASLI) hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served as a Language Representative to the SASLI Executive Board for many years. SASLI offers intensive summer language instruction for up to 15 different South Asian languages, most of which are rarely if ever taught in the U.S, which prepare students for more advanced language study abroad in preparation for eventual research and fieldwork in South Asia.
