Rebecca Manring talk “Does Critical Editing Really Help?” at the annual Madison, WI Conference on South Asia, held this year virtually. She also served as chair of another session at the conference, “Pious Creatures: Religiosity and Nonhuman Animals in South Asian Literary Cultures.”
Additionally, Rebecca has organized an ongoing symposium on three successive Friday mornings at which scholars who have been reading Sitala-mangala texts, about how the smallpox goddess got people to worship her, and have been presenting their related research. Manring will be the final speaker of the symposium, on November 12th.
