Maidah Khalid was awarded the Access 2021 Scholarship through the Rare Books School. With this award, she took the opportunity to participate in two online courses. The first “Law Books: History & Connoisseurship” focused on Anglo-American, European, and Latin American law, surveyed printed and manuscript legal materials, and introduced its bibliography and curatorship. The second course “Introduction to Islamic Manuscripts” took a broad view of the manuscript arts from the origins of Islam in the seventh century through the early modern period (eighteenth and nineteenth centuries), encompassing Arab, Persian, Turkish, and Indian cultures.
