Some of our older faculty may remember Sohaib Sultan, who graduated in 2004 with a minor in Religious Studies. While only a minor, he took many courses with faculty outside of Islamic Studies. He died recently at the age of 40 from cancer. While at IU, Sohaib was President of the Muslim Students Association during the events of 9/11, and was a major source for working between faculty and students during that difficult time. He went on to become the first Muslim Chaplin at Princeton University. Read his obituary.
