Laura Carlson Hasler’s article “Writing in Three Dimensions: Scribal Activity and Spaces in Jewish Antiquity” was recently published in the volume, Scribes and Scribalism (Bloomsbury, 2021). Taking its cues from 2 Maccabees’s claim that historians are builders, this article invites consideration of how texts mimic the form and function of authoritative spaces.
