On April 16th, PhD candidate Nicolò Sassi will present his paper, ‘The Secret Life of Eastern Christian Manuscripts: the Case of the Syriac Book of Secrets’, at the annual meeting of the Medieval Academy of America, hosted by the Medieval Studies Institute at Indiana University. The paper explores the material traces of reading practices present in a group of medieval manuscripts, revealing a secret life of textual manipulations, forbidden theologies, and controversial histories.
