Gheorghe Pacurar was selected by the College Arts & Humanities Institute (CAHI) to receive a CAHI Award in Support of Research and Creative Activity for his project, “Incarnate Ecclesiology and the Making of Democratic Law in Interwar Romania.” His research will attempt to unveil the connection that existed between the constitutional-democratic ethos of the Transylvanian Orthodox Church, the religious reforms pursued under the influence of German Protestantism and Christian ecumenical movement, and the consolidation of Romanian democracy during the 1920s.
