David Haberman was a featured speaker for a five-day Faculty Development Program for college and university faculty on “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Research Methodology in Social Sciences,” that was held in Kolkata, India in late November. The program was sponsored by the Department of History at St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta. Professor Haberman’s talk was titled “Openness to Difference in the Study of Religions” and focused on methodological issues in the social sciences and humanities concerned with research attitudes generated from the perspective of post-colonial studies.
