Erin Parks, second year MA student, presented her paper “Is Old Thiess a Terrorist?” at the Boston University Religious Studies Graduate Student Conference on September 26th. Her panel topic was “Boundaries and Moral Subjecthood” with respondent, Dr. Deeana Klepper. Parks uses Faisal Devji’s The Terrorist in Search of Humanity and Bruce Lincoln and Carlo Ginzburg’s Old Thiess, a Livonian Werewolf to explore resistance outside of western, normative interpretations.
