Thursday, January 1, 2026

Abby Kulisz (PhD 2022) is published in the forthcoming collection, Political Theology and its Discontents (Bloomsbury, January 2026). Her essay, “The People of the Book: A Psychoanalytic Account,” explores medieval Christian writings about Islam through the perspective of Sigmund Freud's Moses and Monotheism. Kulisz is an Assistant Professor of Religion at Otterbein University, specializing in religious encounters, particularly Christian-Muslim relations, medieval texts, and the concept of “People of the Book.”
