
The journal American Religion hosted a day-long event, “Crafting Religion: A Workshop in Memory of Nancy Hiller,” on September 27. Featuring Geoffrey Keating of Keating Woodworks in Colorado Springs, Prof. Derek Nelson of Wabash College, Audi + Ivy of SIOSI Designs in Bloomington, and Religious Studies faculty Kevin Jaques (moderator and demonstrator) and Alexus McLeod (demonstrator), the afternoon culminated with a keynote from Kathryn Lofton (Yale) and response from Morgan Barbre (PhD candidate at Yale and MA from IU) on the relationship between what Nancy Hiller learned earning her BA and MA from IU Religious Studies and the work she did in her workshop, her community, and the world.
