William E. Smith III, (Religious Studies PhD, 2011) won the 2025 NACADA Region 5 Excellence in Advising - Advising Administrator Award. Smith is a Senior Associate Director of Advising in the College of Arts + Sciences at IU Bloomington. NACADA promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students and provides a forum for discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas pertaining to academic advising through numerous activities and publications.
