In June of 2025, Patrick Michelson traveled to Fordham University to participate in the Orthodox Christian Studies Center’s triennial Patterson Conference. Michelson’s presentation, titled “Holy Rus’ and Its ‘Godless’ Enemies: War, Russian Orthodoxy, and the West,” explored Orthodox discourses—both in the past and in the present—that portray the Russian people as a providential force in God’s on-going battle against satanic forces emanating from Europe and Ukraine.
