Rebecca Manring presented her paper “Rūparāma Cakravarttī’s Dharma-maṅgala and Performing Devotion from Precolonial Bengal to the 21st Century” describing her findings during recent Fulbright-funded fieldwork in India at the annual Conference on the Study of Religion in India, hosted at Elon University in North Carolina in June. She also was one of the organizers of the fifth annual Middle Bengali Reading Retreat-cum-Workshop, held this year in Gyor, Hungary and bringing together scholars from all over the world who work on the literature of this time period in Bengal.
