Laura Carlson Hasler gave an invited lecture at Yale Divinity School on February 20th about her new book project, Scriptural Affordances. The lecture, titled “Is Haggai Worth Reading?” describes the ways in which recent scholarly interpretation of postexilic prophetic literature has been constrained by a narrow idea of the “spiritual” and explores how we might read these texts otherwise.
