Candy Brown delivered the 2024–25 Cushwa Center Lecture, “Francis S. MacNutt and the Globalization of Charismatic Christianity,” at the University of Notre Dame on Friday, October 4, 2024. MacNutt (1925-2020) was a Dominican priest who, in the 1970s, brought healing to the center of Catholic Charismatic Renewal and catalyzed its global spread before his marriage and excommunication in 1980. The lecture was recorded on video. Brown received a Research Travel Grant from the Cushwa Center, a Sabbatical Grant for Researchers from the Louisville Institute, and a Prestigious Award Leave Supplement from Indiana University to support writing a book-length biography.
