After having received the Fellowship for Foreign Language Support, OVPIA IU Enhancement Grant, travel grant from the Islamic Studies Centre at IU, Sweta Dutta attended the 8 week AIIS Summer Language Program in Mughal Persian from June to August 2024 in Lucknow, India. She read 15th and 16th century Mughal chronicles like the Tuzk-e-Jahangiri, Ain-e-Akbari, poems by Iranian and Indian legends like Hafez, Sadi, Khusrow and Allama Iqbal. She also visited Sufi shrines in Kakori and Deva Sharif and translated a poem and a short story from Bengali to Persian for her final project.
