The Center for Religion and the Human hosted a conversation and workshop with Dr. Irus Braverman, professor of law and adjunct professor of geography at The State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Braverman teaches courses on the politics of nature, law and genetics, wildlife and biodiversity, and climate justice, among others. Sarah Imhoff talked with Braverman about her most recent book, which traces how the Israeli state has used nature as a technology of political power and discussed questions about national parks, rescuing an endangered vulture, controlling goats, impounding goldfinches, and much more.
