Under the leadership of seniors Areej Kamran and Samantha Wolf, the Undergraduate Religious Studies Association (URSA) hosted its eighth research symposium on March 1 at the Center for Religion and the Human. Keegan Nichols, Emma Crim, Ella Woernle, and Serena Fox from IU; Finn Pollard and Audrey Cruey from UVA, and Claire Weber from U of Chicago presented original research on topics ranging from pilgrimage to witchcraft, from conversion narratives to epistemological frameworks. The event was capped by a keynote lecture by Prof. R. Kevin Jaques on “Reconstructing the Early Islamic World: Recovering the ‘Lost’ Biography of Muhammad.”
