Maidah Khalid presented part of her dissertation project at the Max Planck Institute of Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt, Germany. The Max Planck Summer Academy aims to provide a carefully selected group of early-stage research students, typically PhD candidates, with a comprehensive introduction to both traditional and contemporary approaches and methodologies in the field of legal history. This year’s academy focused on the theme of “Actors, Groups and Identities in Legal History.” Together, with other participants, Khalid had the opportunity to not only take introductory courses in different fields of legal history, but also to develop her own research making use of the institute’s library and by discussing her project with the Institute’s experts.
