
Sonia Velázquez and Contance Furey convened the Center for Theoretical Inquiry’s semester-long reading of The Mystic Fable, vol. 1, an extraordinary work by Michel de Certeau, a French Jesuit who became one of France’s most important scholars of history and everyday life. Faculty and graduate student participants also contributed to the concluding Symposium, with further contributions from guest speakers visiting from Chicago, Berkeley, Harvard, and Fordham University..
